Cheshire Search and Rescue Team was formed following the disappearance of a teenage girl in 2004 and started as a group of community spirited individuals with little more than high visibility jackets and torches.

The team today is extremely well trained, equipped and respected and we regularly assist Cheshire police and other statutory emergency services. We are proud members of the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue and train and work with local Mountain Rescue teams.
In
2012 we were called out for 6433 man hours assisting the police but this
figure does not reflect the tens of thousands of man hours that we spend
training, training others (scouts, other search and rescue teams teams,
lifeboat teams etc), mentoring new search and rescue teams, our community
engagement work, providing medical cover for events, fundraising, and
all of the behind the scenes roles that keep the team running smoothly.
