‘Rescue Takes Place at
Beeston Castle , Cheshire

We received notification today of a despondent middle aged lady who was reported missing last night. Her body was found this morning after a member of the public visiting the Castle saw her down the steep banking.

The initial call from Cheshire Police was at 1156hrs for the Rescue Team to recover her body as the terrain made a difficult access and egress without the usage of Cheshire Lowland SAR’s, Rope Access Team. The rescue took an hour in total and once again the dedication, skill and professionalism of all Team Members shone through.

This is now the second time the Rope Access Team has been deployed into difficult access areas and we hope with the continuation of further training we can then offer our services to all Statutory Emergency Services.

We would like to send our sincere thanks Cheshire Police and all the staff at Beeston Castle for all their help and assistance they provided, and the public for being so patient with us whilst the Castle was closed.

Our thoughts go to all her family and friends at this very difficult time.
