‘Sandstone Trail Search & Rescue Run’
Trail
The trail is 34 miles/ 55 kilometres long and runs from Shropshire to Cheshire , climbing 1640 feet/ 500 meters along the way. Starting in Whitchurch and ending in Frodsham, this consists of a canal section, farm land, hills and forest. I am hoping to complete the run in around six hours but will depend heavily on weather conditions on the day. I have a support car following me and a support runner will run the last eight miles with me for safety reasons.

Cheshire Lowland Search & Rescue Team
The services offered by the Search and Rescue team are Communications, Command Support, Casualty Care, Rope Safety and Working near water. The team can be utilised for a variety of incidents such as missing persons, Searching for “Walk Away’s” after road or rail crashes, Aircraft incidents in the Mersey, Flooding, Incidents involving boats on the Dee – these are just a few types of incidents that the team are prepared to respond to, and all of this is free of charge. Cheshire Search and Rescue Team is a highly skilled, professional and dedicated group of volunteers available to assist Cheshire Police and other emergency services in the event of missing person searches or major incident support. Our team is entirely voluntary and we receive no payment for the services we provide, it actually costs the team to respond to incidents! The team trains hard and gives up a lot of time. Your money would go to providing vital life saving equipment such medical supplies, stretchers, radio’s, equipping the support vehicle, search lights and ropes. All volunteers provide their own gear and give many hours in all kinds of conditions and would greatly appreciate all funds to help equip the team better for emergency call outs.
