Stockton Heath Court Room Re-Opened - 30 March

This evening members gathered at Stockton Heath Police Station for a one-night only re-opening of their court room.

We were given a presentation on 'The legal aspects of procedures following a sudden death', 'The role of the Coroner within the Coroners Court' and 'The role of the Coroners Officer' by Yvonne who is one of the Court Officers on the Cheshire Circuit.  This was then followed by a scarily realistic re-enactment of a Coroners Court session relating to a missing person search by former Deputy Team Leader, Dr Geoff Roberts, Assistant Coroner, Cheshire.

This gave the team a valuable insight and an appriecation of the seriousness of the work we undertake.

Special thanks go to our friend and colleague John O'Shea, Police Search Advisor for Cheshire Police, for kindly being to subjected to a 'grilling' by Dr Geoff Roberts.  Also our special thanks go to Gary McIntyre for allowing us to kindly use his fantastic court room facility at Stockton Heath Police Station which added to the realism of the session and also for extending such a warm welcome to the team.
