Search for mising person in Chester - 6 May
This morning the team was called out to search for a missing person in Chester who has Schizophrenia and hadn't received any medication for over 48 hours.
Care staff became concerned when a resident had gone to the bank and had not returned.
Cheshire Search and Rescue Team members were happy to respond to the incident and met at B&Q Car Park, Sealand Road, Chester. Teams were sent into search areas around the immediate area and were given leaflets to show to the public along with a contact number whilst they searched.
Teams searched open areas of wasteland and marshland, river banks and urban areas. Search dog Kim and handler Joanne Pritchard searched an area of waste land with a major watercourse surrounding the perimeter. Whilst many clues were found including footprints leading into the river, there were still no positive sightings of the missing male.
The search was closed at 8pm and our further deployment in this case
was dependable on information from Cheshire Police after further enquiries
were carried out.
Many thanks to all the staff at B&Q Chester for the generous loan
of a gazebo when the weather turned for the worse.

Worrying footprints leading into the river.
