Police and public join search team's urgent plea
Cheshire Search and Rescue Team put out a plea this afternoon for help
after being told it has to move its Warrington based storage facility
in 7 days after a change of ownership of the premises.
The team, a member of the Association of Lowland Search and Rescue, now
urgently needs a new venue to store its gear.
The search team offer 24/7 support to Cheshire Police and the Police are
now returning the team's support by joining the hunt for new storage facilities.
Since putting out pleas on Twitter and Facebook the search team has also
gained increased public profile for their plea with many members of the
public posting messages of support.
Joanne McClure, Cheshire Search and Rescue Team's Chair said 'Today is
a very sad day for the team. Storage facilities are vital to the running
of the team as we offer a wide range of services to the local emergency
services and consequently have lots of equipment. This is devastating
news for us and we are now seeking help from as many people as possible
in our hunt for new storage."
"We are grateful to Cheshire Police for the help they are currently
giving by looking to see if they have any spare storage but if any one
can offer us a unit that would be fantastic."
The team, which was formed in 2004 provides specialist support to Cheshire
Police and other emergency services in missing person searches or in major
incident support.
If there is anyone out there who has any kind of storage facility available
please let us know by contacting us by email on info@Cheshire-sarteam.org
or via our Twitter or Facebook. We will consider locations anywhere in
Cheshire.
