The team trains every week at various urban and rural venues across Cheshire.

All team members are required to pass a basic search technician (BST) training course before they can take part in an active search. The majority of team members are also trained in basic trauma and casualty care.

We also have team members skilled in using ropes so we can access steep ground and we have a dog search team and bike team.

Despite all the above specialities mentioned, Cheshire Search and Rescue Team is primarily a dedicated foot search team and all members must maintain their BST status.

The training standards are set by ALSAR (Association of Lowland Search and Rescue) and also UKLSI (UK Lowland Search Institute). A constant high attendance of team members maintains a very high level of professionalism and skill.

We also hold joint training sessions with other emergency services along with neighbouring mountain rescue teams.
